Try using Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.
After that, try running AdwCleaner to make sure that there are no leftover rogue registry keys or toolbars in your system.

You will have to make the partition visible where the password is stored. Firstly, go to Start > Control Panel and type Administrative Tools. Locate Computer Management > Disk Management. There should be a partition called PQService. Right click it then select Change drive Letter and Paths. Assign a letter and you'll see the partition in My Computer. Open the partition, find the aimdrs.dat file and right click it. Select OPEN with > Notepad. Find "Password=password name”, “Hint=the password hint”. Note down the password and you should be able to unlock it.p>
My computer is locked, but I never set Acer eLock Management to do this. I can't open my pile. I must type a password, but I don't know it. Can you help?

Acer eLock Management is an application that locks the optical and floppy drives. If you can't open a drive, right-click My Computer/Computer icon, select Manage and open Disk Management. Right click the PQService partition and then select Change drive Letter and Paths. Assign a letter and you'll see the partition in My Computer. Open the partition, find the aimdrs.dat file and right click it. Select Open with > Notepad. Find "Password=password name", note it down and open the drive using this password. If the entire computer is locked, reboot it, press the F8 key to enter in Safe Mode and uninstall Acer eLock Management (Control Panel > Uninstall a program). If you can't open the PC in Safe Mode, you will need to contact Acer Support team.
I don't see an answer to Pat's question. I have no password and no devices are locked but suddenly there is a notice next to Removable Storage Devices that the Status is Unauthorized. The Authorize button won't work. This is the second time this happened. Last time I lost everything on my hard drive. Is there any way to activate the Authorize button?

In order to fix the problem, I recommend you check again to see if Removable Storage Devices is set to Unlocked. If this option is set to Unlocked, I recommend you update Acer eLock Management to the latest version. This should enable the Authorize button. Just navigate to Acer Drivers and Manuals page, identify your computer model, select your operating system and download and install the update for the software from the Applications tab. After that use the instructions that you can find in the official user guide to authorize the devices. You can find the necessary steps at page 3.

No, you don't need Acer eLock Management to fix the issue. In order to make the USB, CD and DVD drives accessible, I suggest you reinstall the drivers. Go to Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager, expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers and CD/DVD drives lists, right-click on the drivers and select Uninstall. After that, reboot your PC and press the Scan for hardware changes icon from Device Manager. Windows should automatically find and install the drivers.
